Promoting Plumeria Flowering and Branching
For those that wish to promote branching on plumeria and want to have more compact growth and many more blooms, I have a few suggestions that are horticultural sound.
The main ingredient is Spray N Grow (SNG), CoCo Wet for the spreader with a balanced fertilizer.
This is the recipe for 1 gal of water if you need a smaller amount this begins the math study:
1 oz. of SNG
1/4 teaspoon CoCo Wet
½-1 Tablespoon of Liquinox 10-10-5 (early season) or 4-10-10 (mid season) or 0-10-10 late season)
Frequency:
Rooted plants small to large; once a week. Spray with a true sprayer not a hose end sprayer.
Seedlings; Three to four applications a week with a very fine mist. As they start growing make sure the undersides of leaves are sprayed.
A few notes on spraying;
Apply all leaf and stem feeding with a super-fine spray. DO NOT create runoff by over saturation of the plant. Hose end spraying is a waste of material adds toxins to the environment cannot reach undersides of leaves.
This picture is just one example of the results when this method is applied in a consistent manner. As in no pain no gain. The plumeria trained eye will not only see multi-branching also the many inflorescence (5).
All products available for this routine are on sale at our Plumeria Internet Store: ShopPlumeria.com
Note; I am being asked for more specifics of the all year long wider range of foliar fertilizing please read the following;
• Adding to the formula for seedlings we use 10-10-5 for the first 4-9 months then we change to Liquinox 4-10-10 until we use them for grafting or they bloom.
• More mature plants; We use Liquinox 10-10-5 just prior to leaf
break late winter into spring, change to Liquinox 4-10-10 in late April-May
through Mid June or first of July. Then Summer through fall Liquinox
0-10-10. We will try to have all this info available on our web sites.Terms of use
